Today we started a more restful program and I think that Clarisse was a little calmer at the end of the day. We also met with her speech therapist in order to get a cognitive baseline and a speech baseline. Clarisse did well on the cognitive side. On the speech side, the chorea movements are getting in the way of her being able to formulate sounds. She knows it and falls back to using signs (or avoiding interactions altogether). Next: we are going to increase the rest/nap part of the schedule and hope that she starts trending in the right direction.
